A cantata for San Antonio:
Every family has a story to tell. Ethan Wickman’s new composition Ballads of the Borderland is a sweeping tale of our cultural history – weaving together powerful texts of John Philip Santos with the spirited stories and artifacts of those who lived the tale and helped mold our cultural mosaic. The work will feature the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, SOLI Chamber Ensemble, Tynan Davis as soloist, and the San Antonio Chamber Choir as they journey through eleven movements portraying the heirlooms and historical interviews of San Antonio’s origins. The program will  include works by Libby Larsen and Wayland Rogers, and we will have a pre-concert talk with composers and artists. Join us for an evening where the story of many people with a rich and complex heritage converge.
