Joseph Causby is the musical director of the advanced CCSA Choirs, and the Director of Music and Organist for the historic St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, San Antonio. He is responsible for one of the most active music programs in the country, including an RSCM program of school age choristers that sing every Sunday during the academic year. Most recently, the choirs of St. Mark’s served as ‘choir in residence’ at Exeter Cathedral during a week-long residency in July of 2013. As the first American organ scholar of Durham Cathedral in 2008-2009, Mr. Causby played the organ for daily services and assisted in conducting and training the Cathedral Choir of men and boys. Mr. Causby holds a bachelor of music in organ performance and sacred music from Appalachian State University (Boone, North Carolina), a master of music in organ performance from the Shepherd School of Music, Rice University (Houston, Texas), and has earned his PhD from the University of Durham (England). His most recent organ study has been with Dame Gillian Weir.
