We start the season THIS WEEK with an operetta performance at Fox Tech High School of Las Fundaciones de Bejár! This event marks the groundbreaking of the San Pedro Creek Improvements Project and is the first installment of an operetta written to celebrate San Antonio’s Tricentennial in 2018. In addition, this event kicks off the first annual World Heritage Festival, a celebration of the San Antonio Mission’s first year as a World Heritage Site!

Las Fundaciones de Bejár uses music and movement to bring to life the history of San Pedro Creek. The work is composed byCalifornia based composer Joseph Julian Gonzalez. Las Fundaciones will be performed in collaboration with singers from CCSA and Opera San Antonio, and all movement will be performed by dancers from American Indians in Texas at Spanish Colonial Missions with Ballet San Antonio, music will be performed by the San Antonio Symphony directed by Sebastian Lang-Lessing.
